I've spent several hours packing my stuff, and in so doing, boxing it up such that, in the event of my death, the right people get the right stuff. For example, I wouldn't want my mom to get any "Mature readers only" comic books. In the course of this endeavor, I realized how much of my stuff, all of which seemed like the coolest things in the universe when I first aquired them, is really complete junk. When I get back from Iraq, I SWEAR I will sort through it and get rid of/give away at least a third of it. Of course, I said that last time too.

*LOL* I know what you mean-- I've been decluttering for five years and I *still* find stuff that I'm like, "Why on earth have I moved this to my last three apartments???"

Well, the apartment I like to be empty-ish. I find it soothing. As for the stuff, I don't keep stuff unless I really really like it or I use it a lot. Means less money spent buying, and less time spent cleaning it, organizing it, or searching through it for something "I know was in there somewhere". Works for me. :-)

Ah, for the good old days, before hubby and 8 kids. Everything I owned, including my military rucksack, fit in my camaro. LOL. I just need someone with no emotional attachment to this stuff to help me get rid of 50% of the clothes, toys, and papers. Then we might be able to walk accross all the floors? Mike, thank heavens, bought them books for Christmas, instead of the legos or other stuff with small parts. Stepping on a barbie shoe barefooted when you are half asleep at night hurts...

Send all Barbies to Iraq- we can totally destroy their way of life with her portrayal veiw of women- you have to wear tight clothes and have the perfect body, a sports car, camper, etc to be happy. And the consumerism that goes along with her. If Barbie is sooo popular, why do we have to buy her friends?
