Because it's never too late to beat a dead horse.

[livejournal.com profile] ginmar's Rant about the Swift Boat Liars. I remember many a fine argument with both co-workers and family members about the demonstratably false statements that they made during the Kerry smear campaign, and this rant brings them all back. Why is it that even when you can demonstrate that they're being lied to, so many people will continue to believe those who are doing the lying? Is it that important to people's self image that they not have to admit they've been suckered? This is even worse than when people reject theories that they find ideologically disturbing (i.e.: Evolution, biological influences on human social aggression, Keynesian economics), because the swiftie's lies can be proven factually wrong. I really despair of humanity sometimes, I can only hope that our hyperevolved descendants get a good laugh out of us someday. :-P

AAAARGH!!!!

Software's downloaded, one of my teammates let me install said software on his computer, it's installed... yet completing installation requires the computer to be hooked up to the internet. The internet cafe computer's are set up so that no new programs can be installed by users. The LAN at the Cafe is set up so that you need a password to connect, I don't have it, and in any case we're not allowed to hook up personal computers. Curse them! I will NOT be thwarted in this, someday, I WILL have Lego Designer up and running. Until then, I'll have stick to graph paper. Nevertheless, work on Simon's Brick _shall_ go forward! This I swear!
