Sorry to pick your brain, but how would you say (as a female) 'I have to go home, my sisters are waiting for me' in fusha. I can't find my books and have no idea what the verb for 'to wait' is. A friend is writing a story with a walk-on little old lady who speaks formally (imaginary future world, don't blame me).

" 'Alaya 'an adhhab illa bayti, tantathiran ukhtayni"? Or is it "Ukhtayya", I can't remember if the "nun"s at the end of duals do that weird thing that plurals sometimes do when combined with the "-i" attributive. Go with "Ukhtayni", if it's a mistake, chances are no one will ever know. :-)

And _thank_you_ for the flashbacks, just when I've been able to go for days at a time without thinking anything in Arabic, you go bringing it all back. Post-Linguistic Stress Disorder is no laughing matter. :-P
