Well, THAT was embarassing.

Tomorrow is PMCS (For non army people, Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services. Basicaly, making sure that the vehicle's not on fire, at this exact moment) day. In preparation for this glorious event, I spent most of this morning washing off our humvee; You'd be amazed how much dirt accumulates on/in/under a humvee in a typical week. After I was done, I very CAREFULLY put the power-sprayer where I couldn't possibly drive over it. And I didn't. Instead, I ended up driving over a hose. This hose got wrapped around an axle. And pulled about 15 feet of pipe out of the wall. And dragged the power sprayer with it. (sigh). Wake me when this deployment is over, I've had enough. :-P

Found some free MP3 filksongs to download. Among them is Julia Ecklar doing a stirring rendition of Leslie Fish's "Hope Ayrie". This is very, very cool. Brilliant as Leslie's lyrics are, her singing voice is slightly... lacking. Julia's voice, though, perfectly fits this song of strident defiance against entropy. Go download it.
