Evil prevailed over good, Defeat was snatched from the jaws of Victory, and the Devil took more than His Due. A toung girl will likely be murdered to protect her family's "honor", and we will do nothing to prevent it, for fear of the backlash if we offend the locals' precious sensibilities. It wasn't my choice to make; I would have taken her into protective custody, and to HELL with the consequences. The officer who had to make that decision made it differently. Was his choice dictated by cowardice, or an agonizing search for the Lesser Evil? When the life of an innocent is at stake, is there a difference?
