Robert Anton Wilson is near death. I never got a chance to see him speaking. I never got his autograph. I never got to thank him for all the weird mind-fuck trippiness of his books. This sucks. I hope he's still planning to have his head frozen, in the faint hope that he may some day be resurrected for the enlightenment of future generations.

It would seem that Palladium Books has succeeded in their ill-omened quest to re-acquire the RPG rights to the Robotech universe. Millions of geeks weep bitter tears as the faint hope that there would finally be a _decent_ version of the game was ground under Kevin Siembieda's cloven foot.

I suppose the deal could still fall through. While a (wildly implausible) release date was announced, they didn't actually claim to have signed a contract yet. While no professional company would make such an announcement pre-maturely, this is Palladium we're talking about here...

On the bright side, at least there's a tentative release date for the Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles movie. Come November 21, we can glory and marvel at the first new Robotech in 20 years, and hopefully a whole new series will follow!

Update: the Funimation website still says "Early 2007" for the release. Perhaps the November date was false RumInt.
