A couple of years ago, I got suckered by a telemarketer into buying a bunch of magazine subscriptions. "Cancel any time" they said, neglecting to point out that you'd have to keep paying for the magazines anyway. Well, I'm sure they mentioned that part, just very obliquely, and then reemphasized the "cancel at any time" part.
Anyway, I just got a call from them, saying I owed them more money. But this time, I got their number, because I _KNOW_ I payed them off, and afterwords, I demanded that they send me a letter attesting to this fact. So, once I dig that letter out, I think I'm going to complain to the Better Business Bureau, and whatever other powers that be who could make their lives difficult. I suppose if I were a nice person, I would fax them a copy of the letter first, and give them a chance to back off. But I'm _not_ a nice person when it comes to F&($ing telemarketers, who don't count as "people" at all.
