Paul Lemmen (http://1star-pita.livejournal.com/profile) is a fraud.
he was arrested earlier this month by the Secret Service and denied bail as a flight risk.
you can read all about it here: http://www.fayobserver.com/article?id=258021
Now, one could say snarky things about how it's easier to fake being in the Air Force than it would be in a _real_ branch of the military, but that would be mean. Personally, I just can't understand the thought processes of compulsive liars. Surely, they understand that the odds are that they're going to be found out. Are they that convinced that they're smarter than everyone else? I just don't get it.
On the other hand, in the not so distant future, it's going to be impossible for _anyone_ to pull off such deceptions for long. All Hail the coming Internet Panopticon!
Edit: After doing some searching on Teh Intarnets, I found some articles from way back in August about this. Oddly enough, I remember reading them then, but I didn't make the connection between the name and the LiveJournal user. So I guess the Panopticon will still be limited by the human brain's powers of observation. This is probably a good thing.

It did seem "odd"...

Reminds me of someone I knew who liked to brag about "working for XXX (pick acronym)". Turned out he was an informant, I suspect he was deemed unreliable.

Date: 2007-03-26 02:37 pm (UTC)That is why when I lie, I only claim to be a magically endowed ninja (who is Elvis's love child with an alien) fighting the forces of evil spirits only I can see. It's very hard to prove that isn't true.
